About Us

Unity Developmental Disabilities Care Center (UDDCC) provides high-quality services for individuals with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), youth in foster care, and adults in supported living and group home settings. We are committed to person-centered care, dignity, safety, and community inclusion.

We are hiring compassionate, reliable, and patient Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team.


Position Overview


The DSP provides hands-on support, supervision, and skill-building services to individuals receiving Day Services, Residential/Group Home Services, Shared Living, In-Home Habilitation, Respite, Independent Living, or Community Integration.

This role is essential to helping individuals live safely, learn skills, and participate in the community.


Key Responsibilities


  • Support individuals with daily living skills including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation
     
  • Assist with medications according to agency protocols and training
     
  • Provide community integration support through outings, activities, and skill practice
     
  • Implement behavioral and trauma-informed strategies
     
  • Provide transportation using agency or personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed if required)
     
  • Assist with documentation of daily notes, ISP goals, and progress
     
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment
     
  • Support individuals with communication, socialization, and emotional regulation
     
  • Follow all agency policies, DHHS regulations, and individual support plans
     

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
     
  • High school diploma or GED
     
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
     
  • Ability to pass:
     
    • Background check
       
    • APS/CPS registry checks
       
    • Drug screening (if required)
       
  • Ability to lift 25–50 lbs, assist with transfers if needed
     
  • Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
     

Preferred but not required:

  • Experience working with developmental disabilities
     
  • CPR/First Aid
     
  • Mandt Training
     
  • Medication Aide Training
     

(UDDCC will provide training to the right candidates.)

Schedule

  • Full-time or part-time
     
  • Day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts available
     
  • Flexible scheduling based on program needs
