LRI (Legally Responsible Individual) services allow parents or legal guardians to be paid caregivers for their own child who has a developmental disability. This option helps families remain stable, ensures consistent care, and allows children to receive support from someone they trust most — their own family.
Through LRI services, Unity Developmental Disabilities Care Center (UDDCC):
LRI caregivers can assist with personal care, daily living skills, community involvement, routine supervision, and other supports based on the child’s Individual Support Plan (ISP).
The goal of LRI services is to give families the tools, training, and financial support they need so their child can grow, learn, and thrive safely at home.
