Shared Living Services

Shared Living Services provide a family-style living arrangement where an individual with a developmental disability or TBI lives in the home of a trained, qualified caregiver. This caregiver—called a Shared Living Provider—offers daily support, supervision, skill-building, and a stable home environment that promotes safety, independence, and belonging.

At Unity Developmental Disabilities Care Center (UDDCC), our Shared Living model is designed to create meaningful, long-term relationships. Each individual becomes part of the household, not a “client in a program.” Shared Living is ideal for people who thrive with consistent routines, individualized attention, and a supportive family atmosphere.

Shared Living Providers support individuals with:

  • Daily living skills (hygiene, grooming, dressing, cooking)

  • Medication assistance and health monitoring

  • Behavioral and emotional support

  • Community inclusion and social activities

  • Transportation to appointments, work, and day services

  • Household routines and safety awareness

  • Skill development for independence

UDDCC ensures all Shared Living Providers receive:

  • Comprehensive training (Mandt, CPR/First Aid, Medication Training, documentation, ISP goals, trauma-informed care, etc.)

  • Ongoing supervision and home visits

  • 24/7 support for emergencies or crisis needs

  • Guidance on documentation and compliance requirements

  • A strong support team including our RN, Program Director, and DSP Coordinator

Shared Living offers individuals the chance to grow, build strong relationships, and live in a home that feels safe, supportive, and truly their own—while receiving the care and structure they need to thrive.
