Homemaker Services

Homemaker Services at Unity Developmental Disabilities Care Center (UDDCC) provide essential in-home support to help individuals maintain a clean, safe, and healthy living environment. These services are designed for individuals with developmental disabilities, TBI, or youth in care who need assistance completing household tasks that they cannot perform independently.

Homemaker services help individuals remain stable, independent, and comfortable in their own homes while reducing health and safety risks.

Homemaker Services may include:

• Light housekeeping (dusting, sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces)
   
• Laundry and linen changes
   
• Meal preparation and kitchen clean-up
   
• Dishwashing and organization
   
• Bathroom and bedroom cleaning
   
• Shopping assistance and errands
   
• Household organization and safety tasks
   
• Trash removal and sanitation
   

Homemaker services do not include medical care or skilled nursing tasks. The focus is on maintaining the home so the individual can thrive in a clean and safe environment.

UDDCC ensures that all Homemaker staff:

• Are fully trained in safety and sanitation
   
• Understand the individual’s needs and ISP goals
   
• Follow infection control and household management protocols
   
• Use trauma-informed, respectful communication
   
• Maintain privacy, dignity, and independence at all times
